I'm Nix, your colour-curating quilt friend.

Made by You Quilt Shop has been a dream of mine for years. I have always been a crafty kid, learning colour theory in painting classes, a passion for smart graphics from smart friends and a love of quilting from the women in my life. I started sewing with my grandmother's stash as a young child, dabbling in garment construction before finding my footing in quilting. I had the luxury of working at my local quilt shop for a few years before branching out on my own. I was able to watch and learn- and figure out my own creative vision. 

 

I am drawn to Classic and Bold quilts - mixing my love for traditional patterns with a modern twist.

 

Working in the LQS, I learned a lot of creatives get stumped when selecting their fabrics. Many of us are our worst critics- claiming we can't pick colours, our fabrics clash or we keep using the same pairings again and again. While I believe most quilters are wrong and underestimating themselves, I know sometimes we just need a win and sometimes we just want to start sewing! This is why I focus on curating bundles and quilt kits. I want to help you get to the part you find most enjoyable!
